~Restaurant Review~

Good Day Cafe
630 Liberty Street
Waynesboro, GA

Good Day Cafe is something most would call "cute". Being downtown and sitting in a nice area this little cafe has a great location to blown into a great 2 star restaurant. However However after dinning with this cafe two times I would have to rate this cafe lower then I would like. One would think this would be a great place to grap a cup of coffee or sit with a good book on a rainy day. Once you enter you are greeted by a welcoming staff and the bright colors that ring off the walls and tables. It did feel more set up for a group of ladies to come in and have a cup of tea then a coffee joint. I found that the space was really small and that there was not a lot of room to more around in. If your are a first timer it is a little hard to understand that you must seat yourself as no one tells you this or there is a sign stating this. Once at your seat it seems to take a while before are greeted by your server. Once greeted you are given a menu that is only has about 10 items on it. With this small menu the range seems to be a little short as well. Only being able to pick from a short list of items this menu will become old very fast. The prices I have to give a big F as they are way too pricey for the area. You can go down the street and get more food for your price. I do have to say that they have a great chef however I don't feel they will make it in this little town. I find that people in the area want something with good price and that they can bring the whole family to. Its sad but I have to say going to Pizza Hut is more enjoyable. I must say however it was a very clean restaurant and "cute" if you like that kinda of thing. I don't find a lot of men dinning in this place after eating here a few times.

Chili's
273 Robert C Daniel Jr.
Augusta, GA 30909
Brian P.
Operating Partner

As much as I love Chili's I can't say this was the best one I have ever been to. Maybe it was just an off night or something. One of the only things I enjoyed about this Chili's was I didn't have to wait for a table and they were very welcoming as I entered the door. It was not that clean of a restaurant, which was really shocking to me. There was trash on the floor as if they don't sweep or clean around the tables after each time it is used. At our table there was a leftover kids cup just sitting there. The restrooms had trash all over the floor and the trashcans were over flowing. I was told it was like that in both bathrooms. Soap was caked on the sick as if it had not been washed in weeks. The decor of the restaurant was nice, however I found that the fake plants next to our table had dust all over it. The layout was nice and open, they even had a nice full size bar. I really wish I could say more good things about the food but I can't. One of the only things I found nice was the coffee was hot and fresh. It came in a paper cup as we where told that there were no clean coffee cups. My question was where is the dishwasher? The menu however had a lot of choices. It even took me a while to find something I really liked. Once I found what I wanted I was told they were out of it. They where out of a lot of things I found out as I went down the list of things I wanted and was told again after again they were out of it. I did find that the salad was great and would have it again. The Buffalo chicken however was very spicy. I am not sure why anyone would want something so hot. I felt as if I was eating some kind of hot Thai food. The 1st set of chips we got where great. They were fresh and hot, however when she return with some more they were dripping with oil and uncooked. You could tell that the drinking water was plan city water as it had a strong smell and not pure taste. The staff was nice and seem to be trained well. Plan on spending about $9.00 for a meal. Over I was not that happy with this Chili's.

Ruby Tuesday
4203 Washington Read
Evans, GA 30809

Ruby Tuesday has really made there mark in the past few years. With updating the decor to their menus and even there buildings. One would think of this place as only for families with children. But in the past year or so Ruby Tuesday has really moved up to more of the finer American dining. The Evans Ruby Tuesday is not the old. It's new and clean parking lot it the 1st thing that stood out to me. From the time you enter you feel as if you home with smiling staff and a great menu for really anyone from the meat lover to the someone who is on a diet. With the large menu they have finding something might can take a few minutes. I enjoyed there Triple Prime Burger however It may be a little over price for just a burger. Forgot trying to stay clean while eating it. A side from the messy burger they have one of the best salad bars in town. With anything one could want on a salad they have. I found the salad bar was a great price for only $2.99. The Restroom was clean however they only had one stale, So plan on waiting if you need to go. The wait staff seemed to be really nice and outgoing. I give our server a A+ for keeping my drink filled and getting everything to us in great time. The general manager for the Evans Ruby Tuesday Julie Hamilton but I did not get to meet her or any of the management team. Over all I enjoy my meal and plan to return for that great salad bar.

Walker's Seafood Restaurant
106 E 6th St
Waynesboro, GA 30830

Walker's Seafood is a family owned restaurant that was started out of a pick up truck on the side of the road a few miles from where they are today selling fresh local fish. If your a seafood lover then this could be the place for you. The fish is all local and most of the food is homemade. The price is not bad for lunch, for the two of us it was around $20.00. The catfish to me was the best you can get without driving to a local restaurant at the beach. The cold slaw however was not the best in the world. The decor however was family friendly more on the elementary side of things. There are paper fish cut outs on the walls and a billboard with fish decor on it. There is nothing wrong with the family decor if you like that laid back style of a restaurant. Walker's Seafood has been open going on a year here in the next month or so. The owner is very friendly and open to comments and suggestions. The biggest downside to Walker's is there open times. It took us a few weeks before we found it open for us to try it out. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays and there time during the week is 11am to 8pm but not open for lunch on Saturdays only dinner. Even with their times posted I have seen them closed more then open. I think Sundays would be a prime time for them to be open in the market area they currently in. I would eat there again if I am ever in the mood for catfish.

Mai Thai Restaurant
4272 Washington Rd
Evans, GA 30809

Mai Thai hands downs is one of the best Thai restaurants in the Augusta area. Even "Augusta" magazine gave it one of the best of 2008. Mai Thai is in the Publix shopping center. Once you enter you get the smell of the spices that fill the air from each dish. The decor is one one of it's own. Filled with nice paintings and art. It is simple but elegant. You can order all dishes with any level spice as hot as you want or mild as it comes. Mai Thai is a great place to take a date or have a meeting for work. Plan on spending about $30.0o for Dinner for 2. I have been to Mai Thai a few times and plan to go back again. It is however a little small for me. There was not much of a wait as tables where open. The floor plan is a little too simple with everything open but it's vary clean and neat. One item I did dislike was that fact that they only had one wait staff for all 14 tables. She seemed to do well with all the orders and refills but more then one wait staff would be a plus as it would speed things up. The restroom was clean and had nice decor as well as nice lighting.
